Saongroup, a subsidiary of StepStone GmbH, operates market leading job boards across Europe, Africa, The Caribbean, and Central America. As senior product manager, I oversee product development for the job seeker side of our multi-sided product platforms and personally lead innovative initiatives to increase applicant delivery. I’m also currently leading a group-wide initiative to develop a new ecommerce solution which will enable new and returning-customers to purchase job products online. 

My role involves:

  • Shaping the product strategy and roadmap.

  • Overseeing product development.

  • Leading and mentoring a team of three product managers.

  • Developing new initiatives to increase ‘talent delivery’ (job applications) across seven platforms in 31 regional markets.

Product Manager, Saongroup Ltd

Dublin, Jun 2016-Apr 2019

As product manager on Saongroup’s upgrades team, I was responsible for ROI on large-scale platform upgrades. Working with an agile team we delivered product evolutions that accomplished ambitious strategic objectives. During my time in this role I shipped redesigned versions of www.jobs.lu (2017) and www.tecoloco.com (2019). Both projects accomplished their commercial objectives in terms of user acquisition, engagement, retention, and candidate delivery (conversion rate). Together, these platforms connect millions of job seekers looking for their next job with recruiters seeking to hire talent and grow their business. 

My role involved:

  • Establishing a product vision and rallying stakeholders around this objective.

  • Writing high-quality requirements and working with engineers to design solutions to valuable business problems. 

  • Maintaining a product backlog to ensure we delivered value early and often. 

  • Leading a high-performing Scrum team based in El Salvador and consisting of four developers, two QA, one designer, and a BA. Acted as PO and Scrum Master. 

  • Working with analytics and marketing teams to understand markets and users. 

  • Gathering and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data to inform decision-making. 

  • Collaborating with peers in sales, marketing, customer success, and other functions to ensure successful product launches. 

Products shipped:

  • Tecoloco.com (2019) – job seeker platform redesign. 

  • Jobs.lu (2017) – redesigned the job seeker space and recruiter back-office SAAS product.

  • Jobs.ie updated job application flow (2016).

Achievements:

  • Achieved a greater than two-third increase in new CVs in our job seeker Talent Pool.

  • Delivered double-digit increases in job applications.

  • On-time delivery of jobs.lu and Tecoloco.com.

  • Initiated an Agile transformation within the Saongroup Technology organization.


European Ecommerce Manager, Paradigit Computers

Eindhoven, Apr 2015-Apr 2016

Paradigit Computers is an online reseller of consumer electronics serving the Belgian, Dutch, and Irish markets. Through a mix of online and offline channels, Paradigit sells into the B2B and B2C markets. As European ecommerce manager, I managed, and was responsible for, the commercial performance of the company’s Belgian and Irish businesses.  

This role involved:

  • Day-to-day management and P&L responsibility for Komplett.ie and Paradigit.be.

  • Adapting service offering and product portfolio to suit local markets.

  • Directing conversion rate optimization.

  • Coordinating regional digital marketing activities to acquire and retain a loyal customer-base. 

  • Providing commercial input, and e-commerce expertise on technical projects. 

  • Systematising counter-fraud efforts at the Group level. 

Main achievements:

  • Achieved double-digit increases in conversion rate and average order value. 

  • Grew revenue and gross margin on Komplett.ie.

  • Established Paradigit.be—Paradigit’s entry to the Belgian ecommerce market.

  • Shipped an automated detection system to identify fraudulent orders based on criteria such as the account history, order velocity, and products purchased. This system automated the manual review processes I had initiated a year earlier.   


Ecommerce Manager Ireland, Paradigit Computers

Eindhoven, Mar 2013-Apr 2015

During my time in this role I led the transformation of Paradigit’s Irish business unit, Komplett.ie. I developed the business case that recommended the company close its Irish branch and transfer its business functions and order fulfillment to the company head office in Eindhoven, Holland.  

This role involved:

  • P&L responsibility.

  • Driving operational excellence.

  • Addressing service deficiencies to improve customer satisfaction whilst preserving margin.

  • Leading customer service and B2B sales teams.

  • Providing account management for key accounts.

  • Debtor management.

  • Providing subject matter expertise on local consumer legislation and waste management regulations. 

Main achievements: 

  • Successfully returned the business unit to profitability and growth.

  • Reduced fraud rates 70% by volume, and 80% by value.

  • Project managed transition to a new ecommerce platform.


Ecommerce Executive, Paradigit Computers

Dublin, Dec 2011-Mar 2013

As ecommerce executive I was responsible for improving customer experience as well as our internal processes. I developed the nascent content strategy, improved order fulfillment, simplified returns and introduced a credit framework to cater to SMEs and, in effect, provide entry to that market.

I spent my last six months in this role acting as country manager. I managed the Dublin office, leading a team of five and coordinating with senior management in Eindhoven, I handled office admin, HR, payroll, and finance.
